Concept
-Background:
Every time we went to hospital, people spend lots of time sitting on the
chair, starring at the screen, waiting for our number to call up. During the
waiting time, we found out people tend to do nothing and simply just starring
at “screens”, such as television or phones.
Another thing we found out is that there will always be machines let
people to measure their pulse and blood pressure. But we notice that there’s
not much people will stop by and actually use that machine.
That's when we come up with this concept. We think that maybe we can
make good use of the waiting time.
-Purpose:
We
think that perhaps we can design a device, which place in the hospital drawing
people’s attention in order to create some kind of interaction with each other.
Hoping that by this device we can let the people who are waiting willing to
come up to the pulse measuring machine and perhaps drag people’s interest while
waiting for their call.
-Method:
By
combining our two observations, we design this device that people can just
simply put their figure on the sensor and it can sense the person’s pulse. And
we feedback with color changing images other that just numbers to let the
tester know their physical condition.
-Result:
We
design this device as a geometric heart shape in order to let people instantly
realized what’s the purpose of this device. Also we use wood as the material,
hoping this device will ease up people’s tension and gives people positive
feelings. This is a device that will gives you delightful and warm feeling
while letting you keep track of your own physical condition during the time
waiting in the hospital.
